Youth enrollment:

General Info

Enrollments are typically accepted throughout the year, however there are deadlines for youth who would like to compete at the county and state fairs. For large livestock (Horse, Beef, Dairy, Goats other than pygmy, Swine, Lamb) the deadline to compete at the County fair is December 1, of the previous year (example: 2009 Fair entries must be registered by Dec 2008). For other projects including small animals, enrollment paperwork and all fees are typically due by the end of January.

The 4-H year starts in September and everyone (kids and leaders) must re-enroll each year.   Kids not yet 9 by December 31st of the 4-H year can only be enrolled in Clover Kids, and not any other projects.    In other words, if a child turns 9 in 2008, then that child may join projects other than Clover Kids for the 2008-2009 4-H year.
