This project is active fall to early summer each year and usually meetings
two times per month, on Monday evenings. In addition, various county clinics
and shows will be scheduled throughout the 4-H year. Youth are encouraged to
attend the monthly Community Club meeting to interact with other 4-H members,
and to participate in the Project Talk portion of the community club meeting.
Youth members, with adult direction, will teach their dog various obedience
skills, as well as prepare for Dog Showmanship. Agility activities are also
available. In addition, youth will learn about breeds, vaccinations, and canine
health issues.
Puppies must be six months old to show. All youth handlers must be able to
control their dog. Dogs must have current license and vaccinations.
If you enjoy spending time with your canine friend, and want to work on dog
obedience or agility skills, then this is the project for you!
