The Queen Creek 4-H Teen & Leadership project is ready to start the 2008-2009 year! 

 

Meetings will be held at the Flores residence on the last Monday of each month from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm.  Address is 3860 E. Via Del Rancho, Gilbert.  Cross roads are Recker & Chandler Heights.  You can contact John Flores at mf17432@msn.com or 480-988-4115.

 

The first meeting will be a little different, it will be held on Monday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m.  We will be planning an upcoming fundraiser and get our calendar of activities ready for this year.  Make sure to write it on your calendar!

 

Past years activities included singing Christmas carols at an assisted living facility, cosmic bowling, making cards for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, ice skating, yard clean-up for a disabled Queen Creek resident and camping.

 

We also invite guest speakers to our meeting to give presentations on public speaking, job interviewing, preparing a resume and many other job preparation topics.

 

Members will also receive information on local, county, state, and national Teen events – including Leadership Training at the county office and the state event J.O.L.T. and State Teen Congress (retreat held on campus each summer for youth ages 13 and over).  As well as directing High-school Juniors and Seniors to 4-H scholarship information.

 

Last year, we raised enough money to give out three very generous scholarships on behalf of our Vinnie Russo Memorial Scholarship.
